Hello. I created a script which sometimes needs to soft delete multiple modules. This script is runs as an automated task (DOORS is started with the -D switch) each night so there is no user interaction. The problem is that when links are involved a message pops asking to confirm the module deletion, and then the script just hangs there until someone comes in the morning and manually confirms the deletion. Is there a way to have the script skip the confirmation dialog? I did try starting the script in batch mode (with the -b switch) but the script will not work without the GUI present. Thanks. ronwis - Wed Apr 08 10:38:15 EDT 2015 |
Re: Softdelete without link confirmation I could not reproduce this. It worked fine for me. This is how I did it:
Run DOORS in batch mode with following command:

This is what my softDeleteMods.dxl looks like: I guess I should have been more specific. Yes, the confirmation dialog won't show up in batch mode, but I cannot run my script in batch mode due to other reasons. I need to run with the GUI by using the -D startup switch. I am thinking that maybe the only thing to do is to have the script open each module and one-by-one delete all incoming links before trying to softDelete the module. If anyone has a better solution I'd love to hear it. |
